Working at Rittenhouse

Our workplace policy.

Care happens in person, in the home. We are an on-site workplace of W-2 caregivers serving Greater Philadelphia — hired, trained, and supported as employees, never contractors. This is how we work, and what every member of our team can expect from us.

01Where the work happens

Rittenhouse Home Care is an on-site workplace.

Our caregivers deliver care in person — in clients' homes and independent-living residences across Rittenhouse Square, Center City, the Main Line, and the greater Philadelphia metro. Assignments are matched by skills, schedule, and neighborhood to keep commutes shorter and caregiver–client continuity strong.

Our care-coordination and administrative team works from our office at 1835 Walnut Street in Rittenhouse Square, with a coordinator reachable 24/7. Because home care is hands-on and relational, caregiving roles are not remote; scheduling, intake, and coordination are office-based.

02How we employ our caregivers

Every Rittenhouse caregiver is a W-2 employee — not an independent contractor. We hire, train, insure, supervise, and stand behind the people who enter our clients' homes.

03Safety, screening & training

Our standards protect both our clients and our caregivers. Before any caregiver is assigned, and throughout employment, we maintain the safeguards required of a Pennsylvania-licensed Home Care Agency under 28 Pa. Code Chapter 611.

Screening

Vetted before day one

Criminal-history background checks, FBI clearances where applicable, reference verification, and exclusion-list screening for every hire.

Training

Competency, then care

Caregivers demonstrate competency per § 611.55 — confidentiality, infection control, emergencies, abuse recognition, ADL/IADL skills — before assignment, with ongoing education after.

Supervision

Never working alone

Care plans are RN-reviewed and caregivers are supervised and supported, with a coordinator available around the clock.

04Equal opportunity employer

Rittenhouse Home Care is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All employment decisions — including recruitment, hiring, compensation, assignment, scheduling, promotion, training, discipline, and termination — are made on the basis of qualifications, performance, and business need, without regard to any characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.

05Accommodation, respect & reporting

We provide reasonable accommodations to qualified employees and applicants with disabilities, consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, through an interactive, individualized process. We prohibit harassment of any kind and we do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.

Raising a concern

Employees, applicants, and consumers may report any concern to the Administrator, who investigates promptly and confidentially. Individuals also have the right to contact the PA Department of Health, Office of Equal Opportunity (717-787-1127) and/or the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (717-787-4410).

Caregivers aren't staff to us — they're the standard. If that's the kind of agency you want to work with, we'd love to meet you.
